3D IS A “THRILLER”

CHECK OUT WHAT A REMASTERED THRILLER LOOKS LIKE

Michael Jackson’s music videos have always come across somewhat as short films. Obviously, the incredibly cinematic Thriller is the prime example of this notion. The 14 minute music video was MTV’s first world premier video and is even the Guinness World Record holder for “most successful music video”. The Library of Congress even inducted it as a national treasure back in 2009. While the music video’s quality still holds up to today’s standards, fans can rejoice in knowing that a complete remastered version will release in IMAX and 3D.

The music video was converted into 3D from it’s original 35 millimeter negative while being supervised by the original director John Landis. Even the song (along with the dialogue) has been upgraded to 5.7, 7.1 and Dolby Atmos. The music video will debut exclusively in IMAX theaters and only run for a week. There is a catch though, the music video will act as a preview, playing before the film The House with a Clock in Its Walls; although you don’t have to stay for the film if you don’t want to. It’s honestly worth paying just to see Thriller again.

Thriller will return for one week only starting on September 21st!

You can check out the preview of the remastered version below:
