A DREAM MATCH? “IT’S TRUE. IT’S DAMN TRUE”
WWE TLC SUFFERS MAJOR CARD UPDATE
For the past two weeks WWE superstars Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas and ring announcer JoJo have been kept off of Monday Night RAW. Recently it has been confirmed that Bo Dallas is suffering from some viral illness that is contagious. This has led Bray Wyatt (Dallas’ real-life brother) to be removed from the TLC (Tables, Ladders and Chairs) pay-per-view this Sunday. There’s a problem with that: Wyatt was slated to face Finn Balor in an interesting but most likely underwhelming match. WWE feared that Wyatt could have become infected by Dallas (the same goes for JoJo as she’s dating Wyatt).
The bigger news is that Roman Reigns (considered the poster child for WWE) is being kept off the TLC pay-per-view as well. Reigns is either ill or WWE fears he will become ill so his spot has been replaced; by Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle.
Reigns had just reunited with RAW Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins as the group known as The Shield. Five years ago, The Shield actually debuted in the WWE at the TLC pay-per-view. The Shield’s match this Sunday was the main event and supposed to be the main draw of the show. Now with Reigns being kept off, WWE decided to use an even bigger draw: Kurt Angle.
Angle left WWE in 2006 when he asked for his release. He quickly joined rival promotion TNA (Total Non-Stop Action) and actually helped that company thrive. Some of his greatest matches were with the likes of Sting and AJ Styles (who both left TNA to WWE). Angle will team up with the other two members of The Shield to face Intercontinental Champion The Miz, Sheamus, Ceasaro, Braun Strowman and a returning Kane in a 5 vs 3 TLC match. Angle hasn’t wrestled for WWE in 11 years. He’s only in the WWE now in a managerial role after returning this past April to the company altogether.
As for Balor’s match with Wyatt, WWE has decided to borrow the talents of AJ Styles from Smackdown Live to be Balor’s opponent. Not only is AJ the most consistent and still gifted stars in WWE now but he and Balor actually have a history from overseas promotion New Japan Pro Wrestling. Finn Balor used to compete under the name Prince Devitt and he led a faction called the Bullet Club. On Devitt’s last day in New Japan, he was kicked out of the Bullet Club by a debuting AJ Styles (who later led the group). Despite this, they have never faced each other one-on-one in a match.

“The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles has been champion in every promotion he’s been-including WWE
Regardless of the outcome of the pay-per-view the dream match of Balor vs. Styles and the return of Kurt Angle are a wrestling fan’s wildest fantasy. In the words of Kurt Angle (from TNA): “It’s real. It’s damn real”.
