CASSIE CAGE WILL FINISH YOU!
CASSIE CAGE TO RETURN IN MORTAL KOMBAT 11
Mortal Kombat 11 dropped some huge news today with a story trailer and another character reveal. While some of the game’s story details are already out in the open, we now know what happened to some of the previous roster’s fates as well as the exact scale of this new fight. The entire universe is scheduled for destruction after an “alternate” version of Raiden kills Shinnok. The one to orchestrate this destruction is the ruler of time herself, Kronika. Since the ruler of time is involved, we now know that alternate version of characters can exist in the same space and even “dead” characters can be revived to join the fight; albeit these revivals are really just pulling the characters out of their “past” into this “present”. We see this when the story trailer showcases the interactions of two different Johnny Cage’s. On top of there being multiple versions of Johnny in this game, his daughter with Sonya Blade, Cassie has been added to the roster.
Cassie Cage comes from the best of both worlds with the gadgets of her mother’s at her disposal and the cocky swag of her father. Cassie also inherited her father’s Shadow moves for good measure. Despite her weapons tech, she’s still not above hitting below the belt.
Cassie Cage was actually one of the focal points of the franchise’s story in Mortal Kombat X, which introduced the timeline Mortal Kombat 11 takes place in; as the franchise received a major reboot in 2011.
Cassie Cage wasn’t revealed in a Kombat Kast episode, which means we still have more to look forward to with its regularly scheduled programming. She joins her father Johnny Cage, Kano, Jade, Kabal and D’Vorah as characters revealed after the initial roster announcement.
Mortal Kombat 11 launches April 23rd. Here’s the updated roster:
Geras (New character)
Shao Khan (Pre-order bonus)
