TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES STEAL THE SPOTLIGHT IN THE INJUSTICE 2 DLC TRAILER
The critically acclaimed game Injustice 2 keeps getting better. Not only did the first game inspire a comic spin-off of the game’s plot but the sequel packed an expansive and star studded roster with a grittier and well-developed plot. Then the DLC fighter packs were announced.
Being a production under Mortal Kombat brainchild Ed Boon, some Mortal Kombat characters were going to cross over into the DC universe. The first fighter pack saw Sub-Zero enter the fray along with Red Hood and Starfire, while Raiden took the lead in the second fighter pack. The second fighter pack shocked fans by also including Black Manta and a different comic book character: Hellboy.
Now the third and supposedly final fighter pack has been announced with more fan-service than the last announcement. DC hero Atom and villain Enchantress will join the fight rounded up by Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles take up the last slot on the Injustice 2 roster (for now maybe). With the motto of “We fight as one”, fans have yet to find out if the turtles come as a package or if they are four separate characters with slightly different move-sets.
Injustice 2 is notorious for hiding different characters in the game as premium skin packs, such as Black Lightning being a skin of Raiden or Mr. Freeze being a skin of Captain Cold. It could be that only one turtle is available while the others are skins of the first. If the turtles are one character then the roster grows to 38, but if they are separate then the roster becomes 41. Keep in mind, the premium skins are not counted as roster slots. It would be fun to see the turtles as a package deal where they all act as assists for each other. That type of play-style is yet to be explored in Injustice 2.
There’s no release date for the third fighter pack yet, but Atom will be available for play on December 12th.
