“CUPHEAD” GETS A TV SERIES
CULT-CLASSIC GAME BECOMES A NETFLIX SERIES
Netflix is always on the hunt for the latest hit series, which for them has become adaptation of media formats. With adaptations like Devilman Crybaby and Castlevania, along with Pacific Rim; it’s no wonder that the iconic insanely hard video game Cuphead would be a possibility.
The show will be called The Cuphead Show! and will explore the game’s plot of Cuphead and his brother Mugman gambling with the Devil himself. The game is insanely difficult, which means many players probably don’t know the story; and for those who beat the game, the story still has room to be fleshed out.
C.J. Kettler (Carmen Sandiego), Cosmo Segurson (Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling) and Cuphead creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer will serve as executive producers for Studio MDHR. Netflix Animation of course will also produce the series and development will be supervised by Emmy and Annie award winner Dave Wasson (Mickey Mouse Shorts).
There’s no release date yet, but I couldn’t beat the game so I’ll be on the lookout for this one.
