EVERYONE’S OTHER FAVORITE NINJA ENTERS HISTORY
YOSHIMITSU (NOT SASUKE) RETURNS IN SOULCALIBUR VI
Yoshimitsu is one of those strange characters that has somehow crossed over into other franchises. Besides the SoulCalibur franchise, he’s somehow been in every version of Tekken. Despite SoulCalibur VI giving players a different look into the franchise’s past, chances are this Yoshimitsu will not have known about the events that occurred.
Yoshimitsu is more of a title or name, than an actual person. Every time the leader of his clan passes, another young warrior takes the mantle of his name. Also, despite the fact that the SoulCalibur franchise takes place way in the past (SoulCalibur V was the only game to explicitly provide fans with a certain time frame), Yoshimitsu is a mechanical ninja (or parts of him at least).
The updated graphics really display the contrast of Yoshimitsu’s cyborg-like appearance to that of Taki’s traditional ninja fashion. He still uses his signature unorthodox style of hopping, dancing and hovering with his sword that fans love and other opponents hate. I can’t wait to hear what Geralt would have to say about how Yoshimitsu fights.
So far Yoshimitsu makes the ninth character from the original series to return, with others being Mitsurugi, Sophitia, Taki, Ivy and Siegfried being recently announced.
With this iteration of Yoshiitsu appearing, the current roster is as follows:
Geralt (guest character)
Groh (new character)
