FIRST LOOK AT THE SUBSTITUTE SOUL REAPER
FIRST TRAILER FOR LIVE-ACTION BLEACH FILM RELEASED
Bleach is the latest anime/manga series to get a live adaptation film and the first trailer has dropped. Along with the release date of July 20th, we get a close-up of Sota Fukushi as Ichigo and visit his transformation into a substitute Soul Reaper.
Based on the trailer (it’s only 30 seconds long) it appears that the film will directly pull from the anime. The exact scene of Ichigo getting stabbed by Rukia to receive her power is a literal copy of the source material. Even the Hollow from the trailer matches the one from the manga and anime.
The Bleach manga recently ended in the fall of 2016 after 74 volumes. It has been around since 2001. With so much free time on his hands, Bleach creator Tite Kubo reportedly helped as much as possible in the production to keep the film faithful. They even got Ichigo’s exact hair color right.
Warner Brothers will distribute the film in Japan with no current English release determined.
