FORMER POWER RANGERS MAINTAIN “THE ORDER”
INDIE FILM STARRING EVERY POWER RANGER EVER TO FILM IN 2019
While the Power Rangers franchise is in the middle of an amazing comic book series and possible development of a new feature film, a different kind of movie is in place to start filming next year.
First revealed back in 2016 on Indiegogo, The Order is a sci-fi, action extravaganza that serves as a gritty, adult take on the concept of the Power Rangers. The film itself is not related in any way to the franchise, but shares the theme of a secret team constantly training and fighting to maintain peace. In contrast to the Power Rangers, these heroes are not afraid to get their hands dirty and don’t need the morphing grid to seriously kick some ass.
The film was written by David Fielding (Zordon) and Karan Ashley; who played Aisha (the Yellow Mighty Morphin Ranger) in seasons two and three of the Mighty Morphin team. After hitting its Indiegogo target, the film found its director in Nick Gallard. Until now, the film had not started filming so in order to keep backers enthralled, a prelude comic was created. The comic, The Order: Icarus Rising is currently available on the film’s official website and provides a large amount of backstory into the upcoming film. It looks to be a necessary read for potential viewers.
