JAX, LIU KANG, KUNG LAO, ERRON BLACK & SHANG TSUNG WILL FINISH YOU!
FOUR SERIES STAPLES AND ONE DLC TO RETURN IN MORTAL KOMBAT 11
Other than Kombat Kast, there are plenty of venues to reveal characters for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 game. A new promo trailer has actually revealed three returning fighters, similar to the story trailer that was announced a week ago. On top of the promo trailer, a trailer showcasing a new game mode was revealed; which also revealed another DLC fighter.
The promo trailer is called Old Skool vs. New Skool which showcases more consequences of the game’s time-travel plot. In the trailer we see the human versions of Liu Kang and Kung Lao meet their undead counterparts along with some of their moves in game. In another moment, Jacqui Briggs gets pulled away from a fight by her father Jax; who is about to fight another version of himself. We also get to see more Johnny Cage shenanigans; who apparently is having the most fun with time travel. Erron Black, who was seen in the previous story trailer is also seen in this new trailer, confirming that he will be part of the roster as well.
The trailer of course featured gameplay and since there’s a closed beta test going on, numerous gameplay videos for these characters are up as well. Old Skool vs. New Skool even features music from Ice Cube and Vince Staples. Lastly, we got a trailer revealing a new feature called the Krypt. The Krypt is a place to unlock new items, either in-game or through online stores. In a fun surprise, Shang Tsung not only acts as the Krypt’s guard, but he will be a DLC member of the roster too. In an homage to the first game, Shang Tsung is played by the original film actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. Shang Tsung is also the first of a six-pack of DLC fighters to be released after the game.
Mortal Kombat 11 launches April 23rd. Here’s the updated roster:
Shang Tsung (DLC)
Geras (New character)
Shao Khan (Pre-order bonus)
