Batman: The Killing Joke has become the definitive origin story for Batman’s most notorious villain and while major fans would have already read the comic, many would have liked the story to have a movie adaptation. Earlier this year, fans prayers were answered as the comic was announced to have a film release this summer. Creating more excitement was the casting of Mark Hamill as the Joker along with his castmates of a different Batman production Kevin Conroy and Tara Strong. Ray Wise will unfortunately suffer during the film as Commissioner Gordon.
The news only got better as Warner Brothers allowed the Bruce Timm produced film to have an R-rating. Anything the Joker does should be rated R after all. What’s left after the most compelling Batman-Joker encounter gets an R-rated film? Screen the film in theaters of course!
That’s right little kiddies, Batman: The Killing Joke will have a nationwide screening in participating theaters for one night only. Nerdist reports that on Monday July 25h the film will be screened at 7 and 10:30 pm local time at whatever theater near you is willing to show it. Tickets will go on sale Friday July 17th courtesy of Fathom Events.
It is possible to get tickets for the consecutive screenings, if you really want a double dose of Joker’s insanity.
