KEY & PEELE REUNITE!
ICONIC DUO TO RETURN IN STOP-MOTION FILM WENDELL AND WILD
Jordan Peele has been on a roll with his multiple productions getting green-lit and his winning an Oscar for best screenplay with Get Out is apparently just the start. While Get Out and his upcoming projects fall under the horror/thriller genre, Peele will be returning to comedy in the film Wendell and Wild. Joining him will be his best friend Keegan-Michael Key.
Key and Peele will co-star as the titular characters of the film who are only known as scheming brothers that are apparently demons. Coming to foil their plot will be Sister Helly, a demon hunting nun with an army of teenage goth acolytes. Stop-motion might be the only way to actually film this movie given that description.
Not only will Peele star, but he also co-wrote the script with Clay McLeod Chapman. The concept was actually created by Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas director Henry Selick.
We can thank Netflix for bringing the duo back together as they picked up the financing of the film and will be in charge of distribution as well. If anything, that guarantees a Netflix premiere of Wendell and Wild.
No other details about the film have been released but Key and Peele reuniting is enough of a selling point.
