KITANA WILL FINISH YOU!
KITANA TO RETURN IN MORTAL KOMBAT 11
Mortal Kombat 11 will release this month so prepare to see ads for the game on all devices. NetherRealm Studios has always been fond of advertising through cinematic commercials, so they decided to reveal their next fighter on TV. The TV commercial sees the typical player showcasing various skills of the franchise’s fighters, however, the last player shown on screen ends up morphing into series veteran Kitana. What follows next is a sequence that comes from the game, so NetherRealm has essentially confirmed that Kitana will be playable.
To further emphasize the time-travel storyline, Kitana is depicted in her living state, even though canonically she’s dead. She actually rules Hell with Liu Kang, but both he and Kung Lao were revealed to be playable as their living or dead selves. Even Jade, who’s also “dead”, is an official member of the roster. Since Kitana’s reveal was a TV commercial and not a gameplay trailer, there isn’t much to look at in terms of her play style. You should expect NetherRealm Studios to dive into her gameplay during a Kombat Kast episode or through IGN. Kitana’s reveal is most significant because now there’s only one spot left for the initial release roster.
Mortal Kombat 11 launches April 23rd. Here’s the updated roster:
Geras (New character)
Shao Khan (Pre-order bonus)
