LIP-SYNC BATTLES HIT THE BIG STAGE
MORGAN FREEMAN AND PETER DINKLAGE TO FACE-OFF DURING THE SUPER BOWL
The Super Bowl has evolved to include the best of both worlds for sports and entertainment fans alike. If you don’t watch it for the actual game, you’re watching it for the most expensive and (usually) most memorable commercials ever made (until next year).
Doritos has become one of the commercial staples of the big game (chips during a game obviously) and also makes some of the best commercials for the game too. Now Doritos has partnered with Mountain Dew in an attempt to (blatantly showcase both products) entertain fans everywhere with the newest celebrity craze: lip-sync battles.
In a series of three viral videos we see Peter Dinklage (representing Doritos Blaze) face-off against Morgan Freeman (representing Mountain Dew Ice). The story then moves to show both celebrities preparing for their match with the help of Busta Rhymes (for Dinklage) and Missy Elliot (for Freeman). To add some Game of Thrones flair the last video is full-on display of the celebrities’ lip-sync skills.
Peter Dinklage starts off with the heat from Busta Rhymes’ verse from Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now” when Morgan Freeman jumps in to freeze everyone in their tracks with Missy Elliot’s “Get Ur Freak On”. Dinklage’s Doritios Blaze is the fire of dragons while Freeman reveals his identity as a White Walker.
Regardless of whether you watch the Super Bowl or not, Internet marketing is the major money maker this day of age. This basically means that while you can watch the previews on YouTube, the final commercial will be there as well.
