MEET THE CAST OF THE “DORA THE EXPLORER” FILM
ABUELA VALERIE, DIEGO AND DORA HERSELF HAVE BEEN CAST
It’s still hard to wrap your head around the fact that Dora The Explorer will get a live-action film adaptation. Apparently Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon were so sure of the film, they revealed a release date before they even cast the role of Dora. Well now, not only has Dora been cast, but her cousin and grandma have been revealed too.
Dora’s cousin Diego will be played by Micke Moreno from Ojitos Hechiceros and Escobar: Paradise Lost. Abuela Valerie, yes her grandma was important enough to get a name, will be portrayed by Adriana Barraza who is more known for her roles in Thor, Drag Me to Hell or Babel.
Micke Moreno will make his film debut as Diego
Adriana Barraza will play Abuela Valerie.
Finally, we now know who will be the iconic explorer herself, and that goes to a familiar face to Michael Bay. Isabela Moner will play everyone’s kindergartner aged explorer, except that she won’t be a five-year old. Along with the cast reveal, the official synopsis for the film was issued:
“Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents nothing could prepare Dora for the most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego, and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization.”
Yes, Dora will be a teenager in this new film, but will still honor the original look of the character.

Moner was also in Transformers: The Last Knight and even Sicario: Day of the Soldado.
The film has already started shooting, so the release date of August 2,2019 looks to still be on track. Our question is: Will Boots be CGI in the film?
