MICROSOFT AT E3 2019
SAY HELLO TO PROJECT SCARLETT
Microsoft took the first actual conference of E3 and revealed its ace in the hole: Project Scarlett. But here’s everything else it announced:
ELDEN RING
Turns out George R.R. Martin is working on a video game. The game comes from FromSoftware and is called Elden Ring.
GEARS OF WAR 5 (GEARS 5)
Gears of War 5 was given a release date of September 10, 2019 along with its trailer.
THE OUTER WORLDS
More info about The Outer Worlds including a release date was revealed. The game drops October 25, 2019.
DYING LIGHT 2
The parkour survival game takes a different perspective as you play as an infected human with a time limit.
TALES OF ARISE
The newest game in the Tales franchise. It’s not an exclusive, but Microsoft did get the “World Premiere” rights to debut it.
CYBERPUNK 2077
Besides the reveal of Halo and Project Scarlett, this was the largest pop of the night. Not only was the trailer great but it had the great surprise of featuring Keanu Reeves.
HALO INFINITE
The mascot of the Xbox returns in Halo Infinite. It will drop just in time for the holidays next year and will actually be bundled with Project Scarlett.
PROJECT SCARLETT
The conference actually kicked off with the first console of the next generation. So far it’s called Project Scarlett and will run at 120 frames per second with 8K compatibility, ray-tracing and will use an SSD for virtual RAM. Unlike the PS5, Microsoft teamed up with AMD to create the parts for Scarlett, so we will have to see what Sony can come up with. Bonus points for having backwards compatibility across all Xbox consoles. It will release for the holidays next year.
There actually was a ton more news, as Microsoft went on to announce a total of 60+ games. You can check them all out here.
