You may have seen the previous ad for Taco Bell’s Nacho fries starring Josh Duhamel. It was captivating, suspenseful and the campaign behind it was very meta. Well the original commercial “Web of Fries” now officially gets a sequel and it’s a throwback to the film Demolition Man.

The new commercial/trailer is called “Web of Fries II: Franchise Wars”. In it we see that somehow Taco Bell is the only fast-food franchise left in the world; until someone decides to take them out. There’s even a synopsis that was featured on AdWeek:

In the riveting advert for Web of Fries II: Franchise Wars, we see the return of hero Josh Duhamel in a future dystopia where the downtrodden common people have launched a rebellion against Big Fry, which is attempting to hide the truth from the public about nacho fries.

Between the first commercial and this new one Taco Bell seems to know how to really push a product. Plus nacho fries just sound delicious anyway. A tribute to Demolition Man is fitting due to its 25th anniversary approaching and the fact that Taco Bell was prominently featured in the film as the only franchise left to sell food.
