NINTENDO DIRECT 9-4-19
Nintendo has mastered the game of updates with their Direct videos and in a last minute announcement, another Direct showcase was streamed earlier today. With the Nintendo Switch Lite set for release this month, let’s see what’s new for Nintendo.
SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE
The Challenger Pack still needed to be fleshed out. Despite being announced, Banjo-Kazooie still didn’t have a release date…until now. After the Direct video ended, Banjo-Kazooie would be released to the public. Some new DLC MiiFighter costumes were announced as well, with Team Rocket, ProtoMan, Zero, Sans (Undertale) and Goemon making appearances as the costumes. After the Direct video, a demo of Banjo-Kazooie’s gameplay with director Masahiro Sakurai aired where he announced the MiiFighter costumes and the return of the Home Run Smash mode to the Smash Bros. franchise. We even got another crossover fighter in Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury!

The game will actually get a physical release with all DLC available on September 6th, with a new “Invictus” mode out now so you can climb the leaderboards.
ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS
The game got another update about its features, such as how to craft items and tools alongside co-op play.
POKEMON SWORD AND POKEMON SHIELD
New modes like Pokemon Camp and Curry mode were added to the franchise. Pokemon Camp acts as the Secret Bases from generation three mixed with the Amie functions of generation six. Curry mode is similar to making Pokemon Puffs and Pokeblocks from previous generations, except that you’re making curry.
New Pokemon were also introduced like Polteageist and Cramorant. Polteageist is a Ghost-type Pokemon made of black tea and it lives inside a teapot. So far it has the Ability Weak Armor. Cramorant is a Flying/Water type that looks like a pelican. It apparently loves to eat and that fits in with its Ability Gulp Missile. Gulp Missile, an entirely new Ability causes Cramorant to catch a fish in its mouth whenever it uses Surf or Dive. If Cramorant catches a fish and is attacked, Cramorant will spit the fish out at the opponent and inflict damage.
