“RUSH HOUR 4” HAS ALREADY STARTED?!
CHRIS TUCKER CONFIRMS THAT HE AND JACKIE CHAN WILL RETURN
Last we checked, the Rush Hour franchise ended with Rush Hour 3 in 2007, to lackluster reviews. Dedicated fans hoped that another film would appear to correct the mistakes of the third film, but when asked about it, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker could only say that agreements still needed to be made.
Well now, not only has Chris Tucker confirmed that the final script has been agreed on by both actors, but the film is already in production. A lot of films have green-lit production in secrecy lately. No other details have been announced, but the main factor behind the film’s schedule is Jackie Chan’s age.
For those who may not know, Jackie Chan is 63 while Chris Tucker is 46. Chan’s old age could be a hindrance seeing as how he likes to do most of his own stunts (no matter how fit one is, age is age). Tucker being 46 is both surprising and could possibly play into his character’s story in this film. Perhaps Agent Carter (Tucker) was a reckless young LAPD cop who needed to team up with a significantly older Lee (Chan) in order to clean up his act. After Rush Hour 4, Chris Tucker’s character could become the veteran training a newer detective (if the franchise were to ever last that long).
It’s assumed that Brett Ratner will return for the latest installment as he directed the other three films.
