SONY TEASES US AT THE PARIS GAMES WEEK CONFERENCE
SONY REVEALS THE LATEST SEQUELS, DEBUTS AND EXPANSIONS COMING TO PS4
Monday kicked off the Paris Games Week Conference and Sony set the bar high for every presenter coming later this week; that bar is sky high.
Sony had trailers and gameplay videos for everything they revealed, yet barely anything had a release date. The reveals were split up between DLC announcements, sequels and debuting games. There are so many trailers that the links will be in the article itself. Here’s a quick rundown:
DLC
Call of Duty: WWII- The first DLC consists of a new map titled “The Resistance” along with a bonus map “Caretan”. The game drops November 3, 2017 with PS4 getting access to the maps 30 days before XBOX One players on January 30, 2018.
Destiny 2‘s first expansion pack releases in December with the “Curse of Osiris” chapter.
Final Fantasy 15 releases the “Episode Ignis” chapter December 13, 2017.
Monster Hunter World will launch a beta on December 9, 2017 with the game being available January 26, 2018, the beta also includes Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn being playable in the game and only for PS4 users.
NEW GAMES
Detroit: Becoming Human reveals how its gameplay will work after having Heavy Rain director David Cage spend nearly two years on the script. It’s slated for the spring of 2018.
The friendly neighborhood gets a game reboot with Spider-Man. The trailer revealed more interactions between Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Maybe there will be a passing of the torch in this game.
A new trailer for The Hong Kong Massacre was released showing off some plot points where Chinese Triads are involved.
The Gardens Between reveals its poppy bright style and gameplay revolving around solving puzzles while using time manipulation. Slated for the third quarter of 2018.
Concrete Genie acts as an urban, more relate-able game than Epic Mickey was by using a human character making their world beautiful through paint.
Infamous developer Sucker Punch finally works on a non Infamous related project: Ghost of Tsushima.
SEQUELS
God of War (while not really a sequel, it is related to the overarching story) showcased another gameplay trailer revealing more of Kratos exploring Norse mythology. It is slated for release early 2018.
The sequel to Spelunky (Spelunky 2) will also be released for PS4.
Guacamelee II will also be released on PS4.
The Last of Us Part II featured a gruesome new trailer, but no release date.
