SPIDEY GETS THE ABRAMS TREATMENT

J.J. AND HENRY ABRAMS TO WRITE SPIDER-MAN COMIC

J.J. Abrams has some time on his hands and he’s decided to test his writing skills by co-writing a Spider-Man comic book. Abrams will actually be teaming up with his son Henry and the co-creator and artist of Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales Sara Pichelli.

Despite working with Pichelli, the Abrams led comic will actually star Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson; along with introducing a new villain called Cadaverous. The only story detail is that Cadaverous will “cause problems for Spider-Man, his alter-ego Peter Parker and his beloved Mary Jane Watson.”

Abrams actually gave a statement revealing how the project came to be:

“Nick Lowe, Marvel Comics editor had been pressing me to do a book with him. A year or so ago, I started talking about it with Henry and it sort of happened organically. And that has been the joy of this. Even though I’ve been talking to Nick for a long time, weirdly, this feels like it just sort of evolved from the conversations of Henry and I, having ideas that got us excited and Nick being open to the collaboration.”

🕸️ The secret's out! This September, @jjabrams and Henry Abrams team up with artist @sara_pichelli for a #SpiderMan miniseries featuring a deadly new villain: https://t.co/wM0u8liW4f #MarvelComics pic.twitter.com/jjPoaQ541N — Spider-Man (@SpiderMan) June 20, 2019

You can bet that if this comic does well, Abrams could get a movie deal out of this one.
