THE EVER-CHANGING NINJA HAS CHANGED AGAIN
ZEKU RETURNS AS THE FINAL DLC CHARACTER FOR STREET FIGHTER V SEASON 2 PACK
Street Fighter V has a flip-flop relationship with fans. On one hand, it’s a classic and iconic franchise that has been able to stay relevant through technological upgrades and new competitors. On the other, it cannot satisfy everyone (which changes between new fans and hardcore gamers). In an attempt to appease the higher powers that be, Capcom started releasing DLC packs (similar to most fighting game franchises now).
Over the weekend at the 2017 South East Asia Major tournament, the last character from the season two pass was revealed: re-enter Zeku. Due to the massive amounts of either spin-offs or reboots to the franchise, some characters are either forgotten or left out of the new rosters entirely. Zeku could be considered one of those characters. Originally appearing in Alpha 2 (still one of the best games released), Zeku was Guy’s sensei and taught him Bushinryu. With this style of ninkitsu, Guy would become leader of his clan as the 39th master of Bushinryu. After this, Zeku vanished.
With this update Zeku is back to supposedly create a new clan with a new fighting style. Based on his reveal trailer, Zeku is heavily into close-quarters combat. He will be available October 24th for $6 by himself or as part of the entire season two pass (Ed, Abigail, Akuma, Kolin, Menat) for $30.
