THE FIRST DLC FATE HAS BEEN REVEALED
FIRST DLC PACK FOR BLAZBLUE CROSS TAG BATTLE REVEALED
Arc Systems Works may be redeeming itself after its initial DLC announcement for BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. With the game slated to release in English on June 5th and the title being promoted for EVO 2018 in Las Vegas, Arc Systems Works is now revealing the contents of its 20 character DLC.
Along with the initial DLC announcement, Blake Belladonna RWBY was revealed as the first character available. She will be free to download and available the day the game drops. In the EVO 2018 announcement, Yang Xiao Long of RWBY was revealed as being free to download as well. The DLC content is to be distributed as six packs of three characters with two characters being released separately (to make a total of 20). Now the first pack has been revealed.
The three new characters come from the BlazBlue, Under-Night and Persona 4 games with Platinum The Trinity, Orie and Kanji Tatsumi joining the roster. In addition, while Blake and Yang will be free to download at any point after the game’s release, anyone who pre-orders BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will get free access to Platinum, Orie and Kanji. Arc Systems Works does claim that the DLC prices combined with the game price will still be cheaper than the retail price of games today, so it may not matter if these three characters are behind a paywall for those who don’t pre-order.
The game’s roster when it drops is as follows:
Ragna the Bloodegde (BlazBlue)
Jin Kisaragi (BlazBlue)
Rachel Alucard (BlazBlue)
Noel Vermillion (BlazBlue)
Iron Tager (BlazBlue)
Makoto Nanaya (BlazBlue)
Nu-Number 13 (BlazBlue)
Yu Narukami (Persona 4)
Yosuke Hanamura (Persona 4)
Chie Satonaka (Persona 4)
Yukiko Amagi (Persona 4)
Ruby Rose (RWBY)
Weiss Schnee (RWBY)
With the DLC roster being revealed as:
Blake Belladonna (RWBY)
Yang Xiao Long (RWBY)
Trinity The Platinum (BlazBlue)
Kanji Tatsumi (Persona 4)
The first two DLC characters being Blake and Yang have rounded out Team RWBY, but the RWBY franchise still has four representatives while BlazBlue has 11 (including Trinity). Persona 4 and Under-Night are tied with five with the inclusion of Orie and Kanji.
The game releases on June 5th in the U.S. with the roster being unpredictable due to the scheduled releases of these DLC character packs. There are five more character packs to be announced.
