THE SUPREME X “AKIRA” COLLAB IS FINALLY HERE
ICONIC MANGA LINE AVAILABLE IN STORES AND ONLINE NOW
The beginning of October saw the announcement of Supreme’s intent to produce a line based on iconic manga/anime Akira.
With the line being hyped further by a promotional Fiat 500 that drove around the streets of Paris displaying the logo “#Akira”. Well now the line has dropped and it does the manga justice; something that Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo was afraid of when it came to a fashion line.
The line consists of sweaters, jackets, hoodies, jumpsuits and T-shirts that all include illustrations directly from the manga on them. The pieces also come in the iconic hues of colors featured in the movie, from Kaneda’s red motorcycle to the secret police’s black/navy hue. It also wouldn’t be a Supreme line without skateboards and plates to match. The line also dropped with an accompanying video that explains how the Akira series was developed, told by Otomo himself.
