THE THIRD COLLISION HAS HAPPENED
THREE MORE FATES WILL INTERSECT IN BLAZBLUE CROSS TAG BATTLE
Arc System Works has been churning out these reveals like its life depended on it. Despite introducing Rachel, Hazama and Weiss earlier this week, another trailer has dropped with the next three additions to the roster.
The RWBY franchise has yet to be represented as equally as the BlazBlue, Under-Night and Persona 4 franchises. This is more apparent as the newest trailer showcases BlazBlue staple Noel Vermillion (yes!), Chie Satonaka (Persona 4) and the beast Waldstein from Under-Night.
Note that Noel Vermillion is a separate character from her Azure form and will not have access to a form change that other game franchises like to implement. Noel is an integral part of the BlazBlue plot so we still need to see if her alter-ego will make an appearance. Granted these franchises sport massive lists of characters on their own so DLC could always be an option (please make it an option).
Here’s the updated roster:
Ragna the Bloodegde (BlazBlue)
Jin Kisaragi (BlazBlue)
Rachel Alucard (BlazBlue)
Noel Vermillion (BlazBlue)
Yu Narukami (Persona 4)
Yosuke Hanamura (Persona 4)
Chie Satonaka (Persona 4)
Ruby Rose (RWBY)
Weiss Schnee (RWBY)
The addition of Waldstein and Chie give Under-Night and Persona 4 more characters than RWBY (3-3-2) while BlazBlue still comprises most of the roster (5). BlazBlue has numerous characters that were either originally involved in the major plot or become key characters (Hazama actually introduced multiple characters that became the main antagonists of later games and Noel gained a new form that also served as a major plot point) but BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle still needs equal representation for each brand. The max amount of roster slots still has not been revealed as well.
While October had three videos the next reveal won’t be until late November and the game is slated for early 2018.
