TRAILER TUESDAY FOR ASIAN CRUSH: “BAD RAP”
RAP IS MORE GLOBAL THAN YOU THINK
DISCLAIMER: THIS PIECE WAS ALREADY PUBLISHED WHEN I WAS WORKING FOR ASIAN CRUSH (A SUBSIDIARY OF DIGITAL MEDIA RIGHTS)
Check out my preview of “Bad Rap” right before it debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival last year for Asian Crush. This was back when I worked for Digital Media Rights handling their editorial pieces. Granted it featured some of my favorite rappers and YouTube personalities being that I follow independent artists.

“Bad Rap” took a little over one year to film and follows the journey of four rappers of Asian descent as they tour and try to gain more exposure as artists. Strangely, these artists have more global reach than many American rappers coming up today.
It’s a perfect documentary that gets into the other ethnic side of rap and hip-hop music and makes you realize that rap is more global than what’s in your hood.
