UBISOFT AT E3 2019
EVERYTHING UBISOFT OFFERED AT E3 2019
Ubisoft had to share its conference day with Square Enix, so did they win E3 2019?
GHOST RECON BREAKPOINT
Keanu Reeves wasn’t the only Hollywood star to make a surprise appearance. None other than the Punisher himself Jon Bernthal, came out to announce Ghost Recon Breakpoint. He even came out with his beautiful dog Bam Bam. From the presentation, along with Bernthal’s accent, you might actually think he served in duty. Breakpoint will best be played through co-op, but AI teams can be generated for people who play solo. The live beta will start September 5th, with the game dropping October 4th.
RAINBOW SIX QUARANTINE
Now the Rainbow Six franchise will tackle some sort of zombie creature. The only switch up to this concept is that the game features three player co-op instead of the even numbered teams of two or four. Perhaps it’s a case of three player teams fighting with one of their own slowly turning to attack them in the later half of the match.
THE DIVISION 2
The Division 2 will be getting a three-episode DLC expansion along with being free to play from June 13-16 so get it now. There will also be a new raid. Episode 1 will drop in July. Episode 2 is set in the Pentagon and will drop in the Fall. Episode 3 will drop early next year.
WATCH DOGS LEGION
The next installment of Watch Dogs lets you play as literally anyone. Living in the governmental terrorized surveillance state of London, you (as anyone) recruit citizens to the resistance force DeadSec to combat the powers in play. The true definition of everyone has a role to play exists in this game; but remember, everyone still has a life. Once they die, they die and consequences arise. Watch Dogs Legion drops March 6, 2020.
UPLAY+
Ubisoft now has enough games under its belt to create a streaming subscription service. The service called Uplay+ will allow subscribers to play every Ubisoft game in their library. All the games will be digitally stored on the cloud for access from any device connected to the subscription. Interestingly enough, Uplay+ will be accessible through Google’s Stadia service. Uplay+ will start this September.
THE DIVISION FILM
A film based on The Division series of games has been greenlit in partnership with Netflix. There’s no word on whether the film would revolve around the game’s story or if the film is just set in the world of The Division. More money for Ubisoft, yay.
MYTHIC QUEST RAVEN’S BANQUET
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob Mcelhenney actually came out to announce that he produced a show about creating the world’s greatest MMORPG; and that the people at Ubisoft were the case studies. The show is called Mythic Quest Raven’s Banquet and will be available for Apple TV Plus.
