WILL CLARISSA EXPLAIN IT AGAIN?

MELISSA JOAN HART AND MITCHELL KREIGMAN IN TALKS TO REVIVE THE SERIES

While mostly being recognized as Sabrina the teenage witch, Melissa Joan Hart made her debut on the Nickelodeon show Clarissa Explains It All. With her other hit show going through a reboot development, granted not with the same family friend themes as before, Nickelodeon thought why not reboot Hart’s other TV hit.

The network is currently trying to get Hart and the original show’s creator Mitchell Kreigman on board for a sequel-type reboot of Clarissa Explains It All. Hart had reportedly admitted that she wanted a Clarissa reboot more than a reboot of Sabrina and Kreigman actually wrote a sequel in the form of a novel. The novel Things I Can’t Explain explored Clarissa’s life in her 20’s. On top of that, Hart also shot a pilot for CBS of a Clarissa reboot that ultimately did not get picked up.

This show is still in early development, however, a basic concept has been created. If her Hart were to return, she would obviously play a mother who may end up explaining life’s situations to her kids. In true Clarissa fashion, she’d also break the fourth wall and explain it to the audience while daydreaming of being a video game character as well.

Clarissa Explains It All was one of the few shows that centered around a female lead and that was back in the 90’s. There’s certainly enough room for a show like this to return.
