YOU “CANNOT ESCAPE YOUR CROSSING FATES”
BLAZBLUE CROSS TAG BATTLE ROSTER GETS THREE “NEW” CHARACTERS
Arc System Works has been crunching away at the development of this cross-over fighter with great progress. Three more characters have been added to the roster a few weeks after a gameplay video was released. A new announcement is slated for the end of October (which isn’t very far) as well.
Only one of the three additions can really be considered “new”. It seems that the BlazBlue universe will serve as the main backdrop for the game (or BlazBlue is the more known franchise so it would have more characters) with Rachel Alucard and Hazama having been confirmed as playable characters.
The true new character comes from the RWBY franchise in the form of “Mirror Mirror” Weiss Schnee.
The new roster is as follows:
Ragna the Bloodedge (BlazBlue)
Jin Kisaragi (BlazBlue)
Rachel Alucard (BlazBlue)
Yu Narukami (Persona 4)
Yosuke Hanamura (Persona 4)
Ruby Rose (RWBY)
Weiss Schnee (RWBY)
The Under-Night, Persona and RWBY franchises are now on equal footing when it comes to representation. One reason the BlazBlue franchise has double the characters is due to its plot. Ragna, Jin and Rachel are all major protagonists in the game with Hazama acting as the primary villain for most of the series. The game needs a fair balance in the roster so there may only be two slots left for the BlazBlue franchise (come on Noel!). The RWBY franchise also features four protagonists (whose initials spell out the title), so fans can expect a minimum of four characters as representation.
Under-Night and Persona will be the wild cards when it comes to the roster as the total number of characters has not been confirmed and
each franchise needs equal representation. The game is slated for 2018 and the announcements are coming in quick.
